The people of First UMC want to share the love that God Has shown them by reaching out to those around them. Outreach and Mission is important because Jesus commanded us to love our neighbor (Mark 12:31) and we cannot truely love Him if we do not love our neighbor!

Other Ways to Help Those In Need:
We recommend a good program for helping kids in need: "Compassion." Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. Founded by the Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952, Compassion began providing Korean War orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training. Today, Compassion helps more than 1 million children in 25 countries. If you are interesting in sponsoring a child or learning about this program click here.
