Many claim that they want more of God, but are tired of religion. I want to say that Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship. Jesus did not come to form a religion like Islam, Buddhism, Jehovah's Witness, etc. Jesus opened a door of communion with Him that extends into eternity. Read Romans 14:17, one of my favorite verses. "The kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit."
True religion involves...
Righteousness- right living which is enabled by the Holy Spirit. It involves loving God with all of our hearts and our neighbor as ourselves. Is God changing you on the inside and outward?
Peace- God gives us true peace- peace that the world can not give. Not money, your job, recogniton, a hobbie can give you the true peace that God gives. This peace banashes doubt, fear, and worry. Do you need that kind of peace?
Joy- You might not be happy, but you can be joyful. You can be joyful inspite of your surroundings or hardships. Joy is unstopable because it is a gift from God, by His grace.
Do you desire righteousness, peace, or joy? If you do, ask God and He will give you these things because He loves you!
